When we started Hack Design in 2012, we set out to create the place where anyone could get introduced to design. We need your help to stay independent and create new lessons.
Over the last five years, the design space has changed dramatically. Our initial 50 lessons barely scratched the surface of what was possible then. We've seen a surge in the growth of design tools, the rise of virtual reality, and even more design education opportunities open up. There's so many avenues to learn and so much leverage you have as an individual with design knowledge.
With your help, we can continue producing world-class lessons on new topics.
Support and help pick which topics we cover in 2018 and beyond.
An invitation to join our curators to get your questions answered.
Disables all advertising blocks from emails and web.
See the interviews with our new curators and how they learned.
Initially we're looking to break even and not have to pay for millions of emails out-of-pocket. All profits are put back into creating new lessons and efforts to improve the design community.
Base expenses for software and services is in the hundreds of dollars per month. We've been ad-free for the last few years and recently partnered with a firm for unobtrusive advertising as a way to try and cover costs but alone it's not enough.
Currently, it's Alex Baldwin and Ian Hirschfeld who do design, interviews, and development. In the past, all of our illustrations, development, design, branding, and curated lessons have all been provided pro-bono by partner companies or lovely volunteers.
Please email us any questions, feedback, ideas, or suggestions. We answer every single one and love you for it.
